Destroyers End Broderick's Streak
Monday, May 21st , 2046
The Buffalo Destroyers pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Paul Broderick hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 1-0 victory over the Houston Eagles at Eagles Park. The disappointing performance ended a 27-game hitting streak for the right fielder.
"I'm a little down right now," Broderick said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
In 45 games this season Broderick has compiled a .398 batting average with 66 hits and 12 home runs. He has also scored 30 times and knocked in 40 runs.
