Barrios Career Ended by Major Injury Friday, May 30th, 2036 The baseball career of 24-year-old G-Strings starting pitcher Fernando Barrios took a grim turn in today's game against New Orleans at Gibson Guitar Park. Barrios sustained a career-ending injury during the game throwing a pitch. He suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Specialists at the local hospital confirmed what the team doctors already suspected -- that he would no longer be able to play. This year Barrios has a 2-5 mark in 11 starts with a 5.08 ERA. He has given up 47 hits in 51.1 innings, struck out 68 and issued 35 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .239 batting average against him. |
