St. Paul Blanks Firebirds, López at His Best Friday, June 15th , 2046 Ramón López blitzed the Phoenix Firebirds at Firebirds Field today, pitching the St. Paul Saints to victory, 5-0. López needed 9 innings to shut out the Firebirds, striking out 8. "I knew he had it in him, but it's still nice to see him put it all together," said St. Paul manager Matt Morris. López surrendered 4 hits and 2 walks in the outing. López has posted a 4-5 record for the year with a 4.44 ERA. Teams are hitting .277 against him and he has rung up 70 strikeouts in 81 innings.
