Streak Finally Over, Wilson Held Hitless
Tuesday, July 2nd, 2041
The Santa Monica Bruins did something to Dusty Wilson no team had done for the last 26 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Archdukes, who came away with the 6-3 victory at The Lair in Charlotte.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 35-year-old first baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
This year Wilson has hit 10 home runs and posted a .350 batting average.
