X-Wings End Robinson's Streak
Sunday, July 15th, 2040
The 22-game hitting streak of Olympia Marshalls right fielder Paul Robinson came to an end today at Saddlehorn Stadium. The Detroit X-Wings held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Marshalls down to defeat, 2-1.
Later, Robinson acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.
"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."
So far this season Robinson is hitting .306 with 12 home runs, 32 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 170 at-bats and a .414 OBP.
