Season Ends for Jaime Fernández of Louisville
Sunday, August 3rd, 2042
The doctors have spoken and Jaime Fernández of the Louisville Bats didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Fernández sustained his season-ending injury during the Richmond Flairs game yesterday at Delorimier Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Louisville medical staff reported Fernández had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
This season Fernández has picked up no saves and posted a 2-2 record with a 9.17 ERA. He has 30 relief appearances, tossed 36.1 innings and struck out 31.
