Joseph Monroe Rockets 3 Home Runs Saturday, June 20th , 2043 Waco Blue Cats right fielder Joseph Monroe put on a dazzling display of power today at Missions Ballpark against the Death Valley Destro. In the 9-4 Blue Cats victory Monroe penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Death Valley manager Juan López said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 25-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Monroe said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Joseph Monroe hit a solo-shot off Curt Morton in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Curt Morton in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Gerardo González in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. Monroe is currently hitting at a .323 pace with 7 home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 36 times. |
