Whalers Buried - Out of Playoffs Saturday, August 11th , 2046 Any hopes of a playoff berth for the New England Whalers this season were already a long shot at best. But even the longshot hopes are now gone, as the team was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. New England last appeared in the postseason in 2043. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 24 times in their 40 - year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Whalers have missed the playoffs 7 times. New England has won the Round 2 3 times in their history. |
