Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Jones Wednesday, July 31st, 2041 With 2 hits at Jackie Robinson Stadium today, Dustin Jones added another game to his hitting streak -- the Indiana left fielder has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Hounds today, as they fell, 13-7, to the Santa Monica Bruins. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Santa Monica manager John Bird said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Dustin Jones singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 8th and singled in the 9th. For the year Jones has hit at a .357 clip with 52 RBIs, 15 home runs and 58 runs scored. |
