It's Over: Hounds Stop Medella
Sunday, July 17th, 2039
The Indiana Hounds did something to José Medella no team had done for the last 24 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Trout Slayers, who came away with the 5-2 victory at County Stadium.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 27-year-old second baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
Medella has a .301 average and a .404 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 97 hits, 3 home runs and driven in 38 runs.
