Dragons Ruffin Raps 3 Homers Wednesday, August 16th , 2045 It was a good day for the Santo Domingo Dragons and an exceptional one for Derek Ruffin. The 33-year-old third baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Dragons beat the Memphis Redbirds 12-3 at Regions Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Ruffin said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 7 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Derek Ruffin grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Conrad Wilson in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Conrad Wilson in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Tae-seon So in the 8th. Ruffin has collected 66 hits for the Dragons this year, 17 of them home runs. He has also netted 44 RBIs and scored 50 runs while batting .267. |
