ITL Announces Player of the Week Monday, August 8th, 2039 At the age of 30, Walt Owens might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Tuscaloosa third baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .394 batting average. For his efforts Owens collected the International League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 13 hits in 33 at-bats, 4 home runs and 13 RBIs last week in 7 games. This year Owens has socked 49 hits in 167 at-bats for a .293 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .389 pace and his totals also include 49 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
