New England Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Tuesday, September 16th, 2036 Ron Bartlett said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the New England Whalers after they missed the International League playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today. New England last appeared in the postseason in 2034. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 16 times in their 29-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Whalers have missed the playoffs 6 times. New England has won the ITL Championship 2 times in their history. |
