Hubbard Rips 3 HR Wednesday, September 2nd , 2043 Jerry Hubbard was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 21-9 Galveston Tides triumph at $5 Footlong Field today. The 29-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Tides past the Amarillo Archdukes. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Hubbard told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The right fielder went 3-for-4, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Jerry Hubbard hit a solo-shot off Juan Rangel in the 2nd, walked in a run in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Calvin White in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, walked in a run in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Nate Matkin in the 8th. This season Hubbard has hit at a .243 clip with 74 RBIs, 25 home runs and 69 runs scored. |
