Hounds End O'Neal's Streak
Tuesday, May 1st, 2035
Memphis right fielder David O'Neal came into today's game against the Indiana Hounds on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Hounds did their jobs well, beating the Memphis Redbirds 9-1 and holding O'Neal hitless to snap his 24-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old right fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What David did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Redbirds manager Brock Breslin. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 24 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

This year O'Neal is hitting .455 with 7 home runs and 33 RBIs in 26 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .513 with 11 walks and 25 runs scored.
