Death Valley's Pérez Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Friday, June 5th, 2037
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Manuel Pérez today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Mohave County Field and paced the Destro to a 21-10 win over the Santa Monica Beach Bums.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Death Valley left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Manuel Pérez flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in a run in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season Pérez has banged out 29 hits in 72 at-bats for a .403 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .443 pace and his totals also include 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
