Johnnys End Wagner's Streak
Tuesday, June 12th, 2035
It was the best of both worlds for the Knoxville Johnnys today at Missions Ballpark, as they defeated the Death Valley Destro 8-6 and also snapped Tyler Wagner's 20-game hitting streak. The 36-year-old Death Valley right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Wagner, we just wanted to win the game," said Johnnys skipper Luis Pérez. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Wagner frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year Wagner has 8 home runs and a .352 batting average.
