Redwood City's Longoria Sidelined for Season
Wednesday, June 24th, 2037
The season is finished for Carlos Longoria of the Redwood City Redwoods. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Redwoods reliever suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Mexico City Cerveceros. Team doctors said it would take at least 5 months to heal.

This year Longoria has 9 relief appearances with 1 save, 1-1 season record and a 3.46 ERA. He has hurled 13 innings, given up 10 hits, struck out 15 and walked 12. Opposing clubs have batted .222 against the Redwood City reliever.
