Beach Bums Stop Cazares at 27 Monday, August 30th, 2038 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 27-game hitting streak, Knoxville center fielder Henry Cazares went hitless in 4 at-bats today at The Quarantine. The sudden hitting drought came as the Johnnys took the 8-5 win over the Santa Monica Beach Bums. "Nope, it's not magic," Cazares said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." In his 2038 season totals, Cazares has 14 home runs, .356 BA, .402 OBP, 64 RBIs and 95 runs scored. |
