Destro Singleton Gone for Year
Thursday, July 3rd, 2036
The doctors have spoken and Bruce Singleton of the Death Valley Destro didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Singleton sustained his season-ending injury during the Santa Monica Bruins game yesterday at Missions Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Death Valley medical staff reported Singleton had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5-6 months.
This year Singleton has registered 1 save in 26 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 2-1 won-lost mark with a 4.07 ERA. In 24.1 innings he has fanned 20.
