Vargas Caps Great Week Monday, May 15th , 2051 Continental League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Luis Miguel Vargas, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .636 for the week to win the CL Player of the Week Award. The Joplin third baseman cracked 14 hits in 22 at-bats, 5 home runs, drove in 7 runs and scored 9 times. This year Vargas is batting .254 with 11 home runs and 16 RBIs. |
