Season May Be Over for Rebels Hughes
Monday, May 16th, 2039
Wilmington third baseman Nick Hughes could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He exited yesterday's North Texas game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Hughes would be out 10-11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

During the current season Hughes is batting at a .240 clip with no home runs and 5 RBIs. He has played in 15 games and scored 5 times.
