3 Home Runs for Grayson Saturday, May 15th , 2055 It was a day for the record books for Culver City Extras left fielder Austin Grayson, who walloped three out of Clearwater Ballpark against the Cornhuskers. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Cornhuskers from getting the 10-9 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Culver City skipper Víctor Polanco joked after the loss. Grayson still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 4-for-5 for the day, batting in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Grayson said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Austin Grayson hit a solo-shot off David Thomas in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off David Thomas in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Orlando Vera in the 9th. In the 2055 season Grayson is hitting .341 with 14 home runs. |
