Pérez Rips 3 HR Friday, June 23rd , 2051 Jorge Pérez brutalized the Oklahoma City Owls pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 13-3 victory at Menlo Park. The Menlo Maniacs right fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Too much Jorge Pérez today," Owls manager Stan Stewart said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Jorge Pérez hit a three-run home run off Mike Pullman in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Luis Ramírez in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Hill in the 8th. Thus far this season Pérez has hit .262 with 6 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 15 times. |
