Taylor on Fire: Burns Reading with 3 HR Friday, August 12th , 2050 Dave Taylor went yard three times in a Ft. Lauderdale Flamingos victory over the Reading Rainbows at Paul Owens Stadium today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Ft. Lauderdale right fielder went 3-for-5 against Reading with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Flamingos to the 6-3 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Dave Taylor hit a solo-shot off Mike Stone in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Stone in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Guillermo Alejo in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. Taylor currently has a .254 batting average with 83 hits, 34 homers, 72 RBIs, 65 runs scored and a .354 OBP. |
