García Blasts 3 into Bleachers Friday, June 30th , 2051 Alfredo García went yard three times in a Tucson Toros victory over the Oklahoma City Owls at Riverwalk Stadium today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Tucson first baseman went 3-for-4 against Oklahoma City with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Toros to the 8-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Alfredo García hit a solo-shot off José Vázquez in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off José Vázquez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Bob Hill in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. García is presently batting .364 with 8 home runs, 11 runs scored and 13 RBIs. His OBP is .475. |
