Cornhuskers Javier Lost for Year
Thursday, July 6th , 2051
Lincoln starting pitcher Jesús Javier could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Ipswich Town game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Javier would be out 12-13 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Thus far this season, Javier has tossed 93.1 innings in 16 starts, fanned 61 batters, walked 23 and put up a 3.47 ERA with 5 wins and 4 losses.
