Bang-up Game: Ward Slams 3 Homers Saturday, July 29th , 2051 Zenon-Alejandro Ward was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 7-2 Santa Fe Diablos triumph at Pecan Pit today. The 23-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Diablos past the Ipswich Town Blues. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Ward told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The left fielder went 4-for-4, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Zenon-Alejandro Ward singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off John Campbell in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off John Campbell in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Adrian Tyler in the 8th. Thus far this season Ward is hitting .284 with 13 home runs, 34 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 134 at-bats and has played in 37 games. |
