Rebels End Pérez's Streak
Saturday, July 29th , 2051
Bo Pérez came rolling into today's game against the Wilmington Rebels with a 25-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
The 26-year-old Minnesota North Stars second baseman went 0-for-7 against the Rebels as the North Stars fell, 3-1.
"I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all."
This season Pérez has delivered 122 hits in 420 at-bats for a .290 average with 20 home runs. He is getting on base at a .324 clip and his totals also include 52 RBIs and 67 runs scored. This year Pérez has played in 99 games.
