Fernández Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, July 12th , 2053 West Virginia first baseman Augusto Fernández had a big day at Paradise Park against the Butler White Sox. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 9-2 Power triumph over Butler. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Fernández said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Augusto Fernández hit a solo-shot off Ray Robertson in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Martín Ferreira in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Martín Ferreira in the 8th.
