Red-Hot Bat: Myers Collects Cycle Tuesday, August 22nd , 2051 Monty Myers roughed up Minnesota North Stars pitching in a big way at Memorial Park today, leading the Everett to a 9-7 win. With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 27-year-old right fielder put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. "It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Myers said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on." He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 7 at-bats, 5 RBI and 1 run scored. Monty Myers grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 8th, singled in the 10th, doubled in the 12th and hit a three-run home run off Jonathan Simons in the 14th.
