Smashers Lose Malone for Season Thursday, August 24th , 2051 The news is bad in San Diego. The Smashers have lost the services of reliever Jack Malone for the rest of the season due to a stretched elbow ligament. Malone was injured in a recent game with the Ft. Lauderdale Flamingos while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 11-12 months. Taking a look at this year, Jack Malone has made 22 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-1 won-lost mark and a 5.67 ERA.
