3-HR Dream Game for Fletcher Sunday, August 27th , 2051 West Virginia Power left fielder Tommy Fletcher put on a dazzling display of power today at Paradise Park against the Delano Tigers. In the 10-7 Power victory Fletcher penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Delano manager Guillermo Matos said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 25-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Fletcher said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Tommy Fletcher flied out in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Juan MartÃnez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Larry Sargent in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jeff Vollmer in the 8th. This year Fletcher has hit 12 home runs and posted a .300 batting average. |
