National League Best Pitcher Named Sunday, October 9th , 2050 The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2050 has been presented and the National League winner is Tomás Ruíz of Frisco. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Ruíz. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Rough Riders star told reporters. Ruíz excelled with an impressive 13-5 record in 27 starts. In 194.1 innings he yielded 182 hits and 60 walks, while striking out 156 and compiling a fine 3.29 ERA. He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 28. Russ Roy of the Bristol Golden Retrievers finished second in voting, while Robert Davis of the Ft. Lauderdale Flamingos finished third with 1 first place vote.
