Nick Wallace went yard three times in a Alexandria Aces victory over the Virginia Beach Marlins at Wrangler Stadium.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Alexandria right fielder went 3-for-3 against Virginia Beach with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Aces to the 10-3 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Nick Wallace hit a two-run home run off Steve Fox in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Steve Fox in the 3rd and hit a two-run home run off Gabriel Cruz in the 5th.
This season, Wallace has posted a batting average of .299 with 63 hits in 211 at-bats, 12 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has also scored 37 runs, walked 17 times and compiled a .360 OBP.
