Mizuno Pounds 3 HR Friday, September 1st , 2051 Casper Ghosts first baseman Kunimatsu Mizuno sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Santa Fe Diablos, Mizuno told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Mizuno pushed the Ghosts past the Diablos, 6-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Mizuno told reporters after the game. Kunimatsu Mizuno hit a solo-shot off Leonard Hanna in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Leonard Hanna in the 3rd and hit a solo-shot off Dave Hudson in the 5th. A look at his current stats shows Mizuno with a .339 average, 16 home runs, 33 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 30 games. |
