Hit Parade: López Pops 5 Hits Monday, July 12th , 2055 At Wrangler Stadium, Gerardo López of the Virginia Beach Marlins put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Menlo Maniacs pitching staff, but Virginia Beach still came up short on the scoreboard. The Marlins went home with the 14-6 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their shortstop. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," López said in the postgame interview. Gerardo López singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ron Williams in the 9th.
