Outstanding Pitcher Award Presented to Yokima Star

The Yokima clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Manuel Ramírez will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2037 Northwest League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Ramírez made 30 starts this year, winning 12 and losing 3. He threw 189.1 innings, fanned 194, allowed 170 hits and 54 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .239 average as he logged an impressive 3.23 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chris Preston of the Moose Jaw Ghostbusters finished second in voting, while Lawrence Stephens of the North Texas Droogies finished third.
