Wilmington's Adams Wins NL Outstanding Hitter Award
Wednesday, September 30th , 2054
At the age of 22, Bill Adams of the Wilmington Rebels could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2054 was good enough to win the left fielder the National League Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .374 batting average this year, as well as a .411 on-base percentage. He played 130 games and racked up 195 hits, 53 doubles, 5 triples, 58 home runs, 149 RBIs and 123 runs scored.
He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Craig Clark of the Winnipeg Jets finished second in voting, while Bob Gregory of the Butler White Sox finished third.
