Adams Bangs 3 HR Against Reno
Tuesday, May 19th , 2054
Bill Adams went yard three times in a Wilmington Rebels victory over the Reno Silver Sox at Paul Owens Stadium.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Wilmington left fielder went 4-for-5 against Reno with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Rebels to the 23-2 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Bill Adams hit a solo-shot off Lou Edwards in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Luis Santiago in the 2nd, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th and hit a three-run home run off Mike McGuigan in the 6th.
This season in 45 games, Adams has hit at a .312 clip with 55 hits, 15 home runs, 42 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
