Barrage of Hits Gets Zamora ESL (28 & Under) Award Monday, September 15th, 2036 24-year-old Cal Zamora made a few Buffalo headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Eastern League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 12 hits in 23 at-bats to put up a .522 average. Zamora collected 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 9 runs. This year Zamora is batting .308 with 98 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 64 times and has batted in 34 runs. |
