Nolan Joins 3-HR Club Saturday, July 27th , 2047 Mark Nolan brutalized the State College Spikes pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 10-4 victory at Dirty South Park. The Fishkill Patriots center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Mark Nolan today," Spikes manager Cliff Wolfe said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Mark Nolan hit a solo-shot off Fred Edwards in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Fred Edwards in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off António Abreu in the 9th. In 47 games Nolan is hitting .282 this season with 33 hits, 17 home runs, 36 RBIs, 25 walks, .413 OBP and has scored 34 runs. |
