Orcas End Hanson's Streak
Thursday, August 30th, 2035
It was the best of both worlds for the Nantucket Orcas today at The Killing Field, as they defeated the Scottsdale Scorpions 9-8 and also snapped Tom Hanson's 20-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Scottsdale first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Hanson, we just wanted to win the game," said Orcas skipper Bill Dennis. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Hanson frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Hanson is hitting .319 this year with 13 home runs and 78 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .374, 44 walks and scored 87 times.
