Racers Spencer Irving to Miss Year Wednesday, April 13th, 2039 The doctors have spoken and Spencer Irving of the Del Mar Racers didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Irving sustained his season-ending injury during the Calgary Cowboys game yesterday at Berry Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Del Mar medical staff reported Irving had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. |
