Cougars Prevail, as Final Four Goes to the Wire Tuesday, June 4th , 2047 With a narrow 2-1 series win, the Washington State Cougars have eliminated the Florida Gators and are Final Four winners. "We tried not to look ahead to the National Championship, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said right fielder Austin Hunt, who was named series MVP. Washington State won the final game by a score of 3-1, wrapping it up at McKethan Stadium. Hunt's big series saw him hit .385 with a .467 on-base percentage.
