King Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, April 14th , 2054 Erik King continued his streak at Shipley Field, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The North Carolina State first baseman was 1-for-3 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Wolfpack were not as fortunate, losing, 4-1, to the Maryland Terrapins. "King was hitting everything we threw at him," said Maryland manager Tim Chambers. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Erik King walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. This year, King has batted at a .388 pace with 26 hits, 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 16 times. |
