Behind Concepción, Kansas State Blanks Mississippi State, 4-0 Thursday, May 19th , 2050 The Kansas State Wildcats shut out the Mississippi State Bulldogs 4-0 today behind the strong pitching of Juan Jose Concepción. Concepción surrendered only 1 hit in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 6. Following the last out, Concepción appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Mississippi State manager Marc O'Dwyer, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Concepción's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Bulldogs skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Wildcats press conference, Concepción confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Concepción said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Kansas State manager Bill Becker added.
