Alabama Blanks Wolfpack, Sykes at His Best Wednesday, May 25th , 2044 Mike Sykes had an impressive outing at Doak Field today, hurling the Alabama Crimson Tide to a 1-0 shutout victory over the North Carolina State Wolfpack. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," North Carolina State skipper Cristo García said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Sykes yielded 7 hits and tallied 14 strikeouts with 2 walks.
