North Carolina Snaps García's Streak at 28
Monday, April 29th , 2047
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 28-game hitting streak, Utah right fielder Salvador García went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Utes took the 8-7 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels.

"Nope, it's not magic," García said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

Thus far this season in 29 games García is batting .376 with 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 44 hits in 117 at-bats.
