Manns Shines, Shuts Out Texas Tech, 8-0 Sunday, April 19th , 2043 John Manns shut out the Texas Tech Red Raiders 8-0 on a 4-hit masterpiece for the Florida Gators at Dan Law Field today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Florida skipper Matt Morris said afterward. Manns registered 13 strikeouts and issued 5 walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Texas Tech manager Hank Dare after the defeat.
